BOP CITY Music is a website and recording company dedicated to helping promote the genre of jazz. The name comes from the legendary San Francisco night club Jimbo’s Bop City (1949-1965) that actually began as Slim Gaillard’s Vout City.

It is run by Erle Flad, who owned and operated Erle’s Solano Club on Solano Avenue in Berkeley from 1980-1985.

Our goal is to record and release jazz cds and lps by various artists, as well as sell assorted associated items.
